Ronaldo is causing a stir as he arrives in the usually peaceful town of Saalfelden in Austria. During his pre-season training camp there, Al Nassr has brought along a large contingent of bodyguards solely to protect Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has as many as 16 bodyguards accompanying him.
According to the Saudi Arabian newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Ronaldo was accompanied by 16 bodyguards. His schedule during his time in Saalfelden mainly involved traveling from his hotel to the training ground, but every time he appeared in public, the Portuguese superstar was accompanied by a large “team of bodyguards.” These 16 men surrounded Ronaldo to prevent paparazzi and fans from bothering him.
Furthermore, Al Nassr went even further by requesting that the hotel not accommodate anyone other than team members. On the training ground, Al Nassr had full access to all the facilities of the training complex, and even the surrounding fields were prohibited from being rented out during this period.
The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper described the security plan for Ronaldo in more detail: “He will receive special protection throughout the training camp, with a security team of 16 bodyguards, along with a strict security plan. They will close the doors to fans and the media during training sessions.”

The arrival of Ronaldo and Al Nassr caused a stir in the otherwise peaceful town of Saalfelden. Public opinion was shocked by the unprecedented level of ostentation in professional football.
What Al Nassr is doing is causing a lot of frustration. Some Saalfelden residents, accustomed to the clean air, are visibly annoyed at seeing groups of people moving around in the streets, while German club Hannover is also unhappy about being “kicked out” of the hotel they had booked in advance. The reason is that Al Nassr refused to share space with any other team.
“Despite the private training sessions, Saalfelden still sees crowds of fans flocking to the hotel daily, eager to take photos and watch the players arrive and depart, transforming this quiet town into an unusual hotspot for football and media,” the Arab publication commented on what Ronaldo has brought to the small Austrian town.
