Pink just added a new title to her powerhouse résumé — Humanitarian of the Year.
Honored by Action Against Hunger in New York, the superstar used her platform to shine a light on the global fight against child hunger, reminding us all that compassion is action. Her acceptance speech? As fearless and heartfelt as her music
Pink — one of the most recognizable voices in modern pop — was recognized Tuesday night not for a chart-topping single or stadium tour, but for her growing impact on humanitarian issues.
At the annual Action Against Hunger Gala in New York City, the singer was presented with the organization’s Humanitarian Award, honoring her work and advocacy in raising awareness about global hunger and the barriers families face in accessing nutritious food and basic health resources.
Pink attended the event with her husband Carey Hart and their two children, Willow and Jameson.
A Message of Personal Responsibility — And Refusing to Look Away
Accepting the award, Pink delivered a direct reflection on why she supports this mission so passionately. She told guests:
Action Against Hunger means “refusing to look away. Refusing to sit by. Refusing to believe that somebody else is going to jump at the chance — and refusing to believe that any child anywhere should go to bed hungry in a world that wastes so much.”
Her comments echoed what the organization repeatedly emphasizes: hunger is often solvable, but it requires will, visibility, and sustained attention.
Millions Raised — And Still Growing
The evening raised more than $2 million to support the charity’s ongoing programs — including food interventions and emergency health support in remote areas and communities impacted by natural disaster, displacement, or instability.
Pink has long been outspoken on social issues — but this moment was not about celebrity endorsement in name only. Her involvement has included direct advocacy work and visibility campaigns aimed at making food insecurity impossible to ignore.
For an artist who built her career on powerful vocals and fearlessly honest lyrics, it is notable that the honor she was celebrated for this week required something even more fundamental:
Using her platform to remind the public that every community, every country, and every generation has the responsibility to ensure that children — regardless of where they are born — do not go hungry.
