Netflix has been prone to leaking release dates over the years, often due to individual countries’ social media pages being overly eager to post content ahead of an embargo date. That happened again today with Netflix Netherlands accidentally releasing the upcoming dates for season 4, which will follow in the footsteps of season 3 in being a split season.

The news doesn’t come as a huge surprise for the early 2026 release dates, nor does the split season necessarily come as a huge surprise. As we reported earlier this week, we found some tie-in books for Season 4, which are slated for release in early to mid-January. Based on prior releases, the Netflix series has never followed too far behind.

The post, which was posted this morning by Netflix’s Netherlands account on Instagram, was swiftly deleted, but not before a few accounts shared it with us, detailing some easter eggs in a new Bridgerton season 4 poster. The poster was first teased earlier this week with Sophie Baek facing with her back towards the camera. Now face forward, she’s joined by Benedict Bridgerton. The post itself teased some of the hidden details in the poster, with the post having the caption, “Just wanted to share this…” Clearly a little too early… It’s now been shared across multiple accounts across social media with other news outlets already picking it up.

But importantly for those clamoring for the release date, you can see in the bottom right corner that season 4 will be split into two seasons, with the first batch of episodes releasing on Thursday, January 29th, and the second on Thursday, February 26th.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 4: Expected Netflix Release Date & Everything We Know So Far Netflix Nl Bridgerton S4 Leak

Netflix NL post teasing Bridgerton Season 4 on Instagram

While Netflix has pulled back on split releases in recent years, as a few shows that experimented with the release schedule have now gone back to full binge (see: The Witcher and The Lincoln Lawyer), Netflix is still employing the rollout for its very biggest shows, such as WednesdayStranger Things, and, of course, Bridgerton.

The official synopsis for Bridgerton season 4 reads:

“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Given this release date, assuming it doesn’t undergo any last-minute changes and is not pushed back, we expect marketing to continue ramping up in the months to come.

Don’t forget that Netflix has already confirmed that Bridgerton is set to return for both a fifth and sixth season, with the former currently expected to get into production in Spring 2026. Shonda Rhimes was recently on the record, stating that the show is likely to get more spin-offs, in addition to the main series running for up to eight seasons.
