Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Morrissey has canceled all of his upcoming tour dates in 2025, citing “extreme exhaustion.”
The universe’s one immutable truth remains intact as Morrissey has cancelled even more tour dates.
The former Smiths singer has axed his upcoming tour dates in South America: November 8th in Buenos Aires, Argentina; November 12th in Sao Paulo, Brazil; November 16th in Santiago, Chile; November 20th in Lima, Peru; and November 22nd in Bogota, Colombia. Also on the chopping block are December shows scheduled in Athens, Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; and Ankara, Turkey (via Morrissey-Solo).
So what in a seemingly long line of excuses did Morrissey offer up for these latest cancellations? Per statements from various local promoters, it’s due to “extreme exhaustion,” which was also the reason given when he recently canceled shows scheduled in Mexico City and Guadalajara, as well as when he called off string of shows in Europe over the summer.
At this point, you can basically set your watch to a Morrissey cancellation. The only upside, seems to be that despite the frequency of said events, it never ceases to be funny and surprising. Also, can the guy just take a long nap already? It’s not like his too busy performing or something.
The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.
Morrissey isn’t expected to play again until a series of US shows in early January. (Fun fact: Those dates are to make up for previously canceled shows from early 2025.) If those gigs do, in fact, occur on this mortal plane, grab your tickets here. But maybe keep an eye on this site in case Moz just can’t get over his tendency to under-sleep.
