Mo Salah has a deadly eye for more than just goals
Some of the watches Liverpool’s Egyptian star has been spotted wearing recently are as ludicrous (and impressive) as his goal stats. At the PFA awards, he showed off arguably the maddest one in his collection so far

We’re only a few days into the new season and already Mo Salah has another trophy in his hands. Sickening for anyone who doesn’t support Liverpool to see but this one was voted for by all his peers for his contribution to Liverpool’s title-winning season – which must feel all the sweeter.
But even before Salah was crowned the PFA Men’s Player of the Season for 2024/25 – for a record-equalling third time – the way the Egyptian rocked up to the ceremony oozed winner. His fit was simple (tailored black suit and crisp white shirt) with world class finishing touches. The gold patterned tie and tie bar link up set the tone but how he pulls the look together with his watch is what’s most impressive here.
He wasn’t the only player to bring their A-game in the watch stakes either. Starting with Salah, these are our favourite watch spots from this year’s PFA Awards.
Mo Salah wears a Richard Mille RM 74-02
Find me a gold, black and white watch that better suits Salah’s PFA vibe, I’ll wait. For a very long time… because there are few that are more baller than this Richard Mille. But that’s only the half of it (we all know football is a game of two halves). The precision and excellence that goes into crafting one of these Richard Mille watches is similar to the time, hard work and dedication Salah puts into being (one of) the best footballers in the world. The execution and rarity of the materials are elite too – like, how has that gold and quartz tpt case even been created (it glows btw). He’s also popped it onto a leather strap, presumably to dress it up for awards night. Haters say Richard Mille watches are overpriced but until you can explain the inner workings of this automatic winding tourbillon, we’re not listening. And the same goes with anyone doubting Mo Salah’s quality and commitment.
Chris Wood wears a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980/1R-001
Another player who bagged a shedload of goals last season – goes without saying you weren’t at the PFAs unless you had a killer 12 months, Wood is already off the mark this year with a brace at the weekend. The Kiwi striker will be hoping to lead his country at next summer’s World Cup but this summer it looks like he was busy treating himself to a new fancy watch. If in doubt, bag a gold Nautilus for just under £100k. Not sure what he’s using the chronograph function at 6 o’clock for, but that’s his business.
Morgan Rogers wears a Patek Philippe Cubitus 7128 1R-001
No one is arguing over Rogers being last season’s Young Player of the Year. Myles Lewis-Skelly might have had more column inches thanks to a few run-ins with Erling ‘Stay Humble’ Haaland but on the pitch the Villa man was central to everything good they did so it’s richly deserved. He too looks like he rewarded himself for such endeavours with a watch that was incredibly divisive at the end of 2024 but everyone’s since come round to – not dissimilar to Aston Villa’s style of play under Unai Emery. The fact Rogers picked the most bling, most showy version of Patek’s Cubitus has to be taken as a sign of his self-confidence. We dig it, and the Simone Rocha shirt he was rocking too.
Virgil van Dijk wears an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra Thin Openworked 39mm
Sorry but take the pics of van Dijk out of context and it looks more like he’s attending the Oscars or the Met Gala, right? The sunnies, the hair, the aura, all shouting Hollywood not Manchester. Same applies to his wrist candy – you’re not wearing that AP RO if you don’t know anything about watches. He’s rocking a very very sexy white gold 39mm Extra Thin Openworked. Who knows, perhaps he picked it up at the new AP House in Manchester?
Gabriel Magalhães wears an Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Pave 39mm
Who said defenders were unglamorous? Gabriel pulling up to the first black tie event of the year with a watch packed with diamonds under his sleeve wasn’t on our bingo card. But listen, he more than pulls it off. Can’t help but have a wry smile across my face thinking about the fact an Hublot Spirit of Big Bang floats the Brazilian’s boat.
Declan Rice wears Rolex Daytona Le Mans 100th anniversary
Surely Rice is now the first name on the team sheet for both club and country? He’s also fast becoming the most horologically minded footballer, certainly in the Premier League anyway. Rarely an opportunity is missed where he’s not rocking a nice kettle. Last night was a big ol’ chunk of Rolex yellow gold – the same watch Marcus Rashford was spotted wearing last week. It’s an occasions watch and being named in the team of the year felt like an apt occasion to wear it.
Alessia Russo wears Cartier Panthère de Cartier
Great to see some of the Lionesses have also started to up their watch game. Speaking to Russo before the Euros, she mentioned some of the players may well look to commemorate bringing it home with a special watch. Perhaps she’s still browsing, as this 23mm Panthère de Cartier was a present to herself for signing for Arsenal.
