Millie Bobby Brown is opening up about mom life after welcoming her first child with husband Jake Bongiovi.
In an interview with British Vogue published Wednesday, the Stranger Things star talked about her and Bongiovi adopting a baby girl: “I really want a big family — I’m one of four; he’s one of four. I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different [than] adopting.”

The young couple — Brown is 21 while Bongiovi is 23 — secretly wed in May 2024, after having been together since 2021.
Speaking about her life as a new parent, Brown added, “It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey — she’s taught us so much already. Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”
When reflecting on splitting up parental duties, Brown said, “We are 50-50 on everything. That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life — he is just the most amazing dad.”
Though Brown spoke about being a new mom, she remained firm on protecting private details about her daughter including her personality traits and name.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” Brown told the publication. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little. As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”
In regards to her name, Brown said she won’t disclose it publicly until “she’s ready to decide for herself.”
Brown and Bongiovi announced the news that they welcomed a baby girl in August sharing in an Instagram post, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
In an interview on the Smartless podcast, Brown had shared that she was ready to start a family. “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she explained at the time. “It’s been my thing since before I met Jake. Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”In a cover story for Vanity Fair, Brown said that she and her husband discussed dreams of parenthood before tying the knot. “We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want. It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.”
