As Judy and Nick, now both part of Zootopia’s police force, pursue a new case and try to iron out the kinks in their working dynamic, they will encounter a myriad of new characters. These parts are voiced by the likes of Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, Macaulay Culkin, Stephanie Beatriz, Yvette Nicole Brown, and many more.
Via Instagram, Disney Animation has shared new images of characters from Zootopia 2, including a seemingly incarcerated fox called “Michael J. the Fox,” voiced by Michael J. Fox. Nick was previously a conman, so he and this character have potentially crossed paths before and are unexpectedly reuniting in the new movie. Check out the image of Michael the Fox below:
Michael J. Fox’s best movies obviously include Back to the Future, but his most famous credits also include Mars Attacks!, The Frighteners, Family Ties, Spin City, and The Good Wife. His previous voice acting encompasses Stuart Little, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Phineas and Ferb, preparing him for this role, though it may be a small one.
Zootopia has big shoes to fill, as its predecessor grossed $1 billion worldwide and still holds a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. But the new movie has the box office strengths of being a continuation of a popular IP, as well as targeting a bigger audience, including younger viewers. To top it off, the sheer number of stars in ironic roles will potentially entertain adults.
Zootopia 2 will release theatrically on November 26, bringing Judy and Nick back to theaters and introducing a new roster of funny, possibly beloved characters.
