Kid Rock is bringing a lineup of country friends out on the road with him in 2026. He just announced a spring tour that includes several mainstream hitmakers.

The Freedom 250 Tour includes 10 dates from May 1 to June 20. It’s mostly outdoor dates for the country rap-rocker and it surrounds his scheduled appearances on the Rock the Country Festival series.

 

Parker McCollum and Them Dirty Roses are two more acts opening for Kid Rock this spring. Promotional material for the Freedom 250 Tour promises a celebration 250 years in the making. That’s a nod to America’s 250th birthday in 2026, although it’s unlikely the country’s forefather’s prophesied this exact event.

The new tour announcement comes days before Kid Rock headlines the four-artist Turning Point USA All-American Halftime Show on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 8). It also comes on a day where Shinedown pulled out of its Rock the Country Festival commitment, becoming the fourth to do so.

Level 20: Are Kid Rock and Eminem friends?

Kid Rock and Eminem came up in Detroit’s hip-hop circuit in the ’90s. You bet they crossed paths.

Early on, Marshall Mathers would challenge Kid Rock to rap battles, but later they’d write and record together. In 2009, Eminem said that he and Kid Rock were friends who’d play basketball together. They’re still competing after all these years!

Level 30: Meet Kid Rock’s son

This is Robert James Ritchie Jr., Kid Rock’s only child. His mother is the singer’s longtime girlfriend, a woman who battled various demons to the point that Kid Rock became his son’s full-time caretaker.

At one point, Kid Rock thought he had two children with his ex, but eventually got Maury Povich’d and learned, “You are NOT the father!”

Level 50: Kid Rock’s arrest record

Kid Rock has been arrested four times — the first were when he was young, and the alleged crimes were minor alcohol-related offenses. In 2005, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a DJ at a strip club in Nashville.

Perhaps his most infamous arrest came in 2007, when a fight broke out at a Waffle House near Atlanta. He was hit with a misdemeanor simple battery charge.

Level 60: RIP Joe C

For a half-decade, Kid Rock’s hype man was 3-foot, 9-inch Joe C, real name: Joseph Calleja. He appears on the title track to the singer’s Devil Without a Cause album and was a highlight of Rock’s live shows. Sadly, he died at age 26 in November 2000 after a lifelong battle with celiac disease.

Level 65: Vanilla Ice beef

It’s not clear that Vanilla Ice ever offended Kid Rock, but the Detroit-born star certainly resented him. “Ice Ice Baby” was a huge hit in 1990, but after that, the OG white rapper disappeared.

Kid Rock was signed to Jive Records at the time, and — seeing what became of Vanilla Ice — they (per the Free Press) decided they didn’t want a white rapper and dropped him like hot rocks.

Rock would soon change his image and adjust his lyrics to make sure nobody confused him with VI. In the 2000s, he compared Justin Bieber to Vanilla Ice, and he wasn’t being complimentary.

Level 70: Kid Rock used to scalp his own tickets

In 2013, as he was promoting his $20 concert ticket sale, he told Piers Morgan he used to take his tickets and sell them on the aftermarket.

“I’m going to tell people, a lot of artists already do it. I think I’ve been guilty of it in the past, too. We take some of our tickets, we put them on StubHub, overcharge with what the market determines they’re worth … I’m taking 1,000 of them and I’m scalping them.”

Level 75: Kid Rock’s son can sing, too!

Robert James Ritchie Jr. is a Belmont University graduate who still lives in Nashville. It’s not clear what he does for a living now, but he once released a solo single and in 2022 co-starred with his dad for this song/video. It’s called “Shakedown” and it’s decent!

Kid Rock shared the message his son wrote for him on his 54th birthday. It’s a nice note that is preceded by this message from the famous singer: “I am just so dam (sic) proud of him! Brought a tear to my eye. Thank-you June Bug.”

He calls his son — Robert Jr. — June Bug! That’s just adorable.

Level 80: A Kid Rock sex tape?

The incident happened in 1999 on Rock’s motor home. He had a few girls, Scott Stapp from Creed showed up with a tape recorder and they partied. In 2009, during a very punchy interview with Spin, Stapp clarified that it was not a sex tape because there was only oral sex. He also said he was sad that he lost a friend over the whole thing.

Rock would later tell Billboard he knew there was video, he probably wasn’t sober and he’s upset that he’s in the same category as Paris Hilton, Colin Farrell and Pam Anderson. There was a lawsuit to keep the tape private and it largely worked.

Level 95: Why Kid Rock and Pam Anderson divorced

Kid Rock and Pam Anderson were married for 121 days in 2006. They dated off an on for about five years prior, but agreed to settle down with their families.

They separated on Nov. 27, 2006 and immediately we got this headline: Did ‘Borat’ Cause Pam and Kid’s Split?

Borat was a Sascha Baron Cohen film, and in it Pam Anderson gets kidnapped. Supposedly, when Kid Rock saw it he went crazy and called her a bad word and stormed out.

About a year later, Kid Rock told Howard Stern that story was garbage and their split really had to do with family. She’d insulted his sister and mother and didn’t treat his son like her own kids. Robert Jr. was said to have hated California and combined with fights about money, it all went south quick.

Here is how Kid Rock is living in 2024. He literally built his own White House, and it’s 27,000 square feet with just two bedrooms, because — as he told Joe Rogan — the rest of the house is for partying.

Among the amenities: A gold plated brass eagle, that gold toilet with gold walls and items he traded with celebs for. For example, Zac Brown is said to have provided his bed!

Of course, this isn’t Rock’s first themed house. He once lived here — in a camouflaged double-wide. Few people go all in like Kid Rock.
