Jennifer Lawrence has said previous male co-stars would ‘punish’ her for not wanting to sleep with them.
This shocking comment was made in passing while the Oscar-winning actress was talking about her co-star Robert Pattinson in new film Die My Love, singing his praises.
Lawrence, 35, explained that she didn’t want to use an intimacy coordinator on Die My Love because she felt ‘very safe’ with The Batman actor Pattinson.
Hunger Games actress Lawrence stars alongside 39-year-old Pattinson in the dark comedy-drama film, exploring the early days of parenthood in unflinching detail as a couple grapples to keep their relationship intact.
Explaining why she didn’t think an intimacy coordinator was necessary on set, Lawrence told the Las Culturistas podcast: ‘We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob.
‘He is not pervy and very in love with [partner] Suki [Waterhouse]. We mostly were just talking about our kids and our relationships.’

‘So there wasn’t any weird like, “Does he think I like him?” If there was a little bit of that I would probably have an intimacy coordinator,’ she continued, before dropping her bombshell.
‘A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f**k them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that.’

When hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers reacted with shock – as you’d expect – and Rogers quipped ‘just a little cute social punishment’, Lawrence added in an exaggerated mock-serious tone: ‘I’ve just heard of this, I’ve never experienced it…’
The X-Men and Winter’s Bone star said she also didn’t really know Pattinson before but ‘he’s exactly what you would imagine, a folksy British guy and just sweet and not dramatic and really laid back’.

Meanwhile, Lawrence previously admitted that she suffered self-doubts before giving birth to her first child.
The Hollywood star conceded that she didn’t know what to expect from motherhood and how she would cope with the challenge of raising her child.
Lawrence – who has Cy, three, and a son called Louie, who was born earlier this year – revealed to Vogue magazine in 2022: ‘It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody.
‘If I say, “It was amazing from the start,” some people will think, “It wasn’t amazing for me at first,” and feel bad. Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest, who were like, “It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.” So I felt so prepared to be forgiving.
‘I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, “Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?”’

While promoting Die My Love at Cannes Film Festival in May this year, where it debuted, alongside Pattinson and director and co-writer Lynne Ramsay, Lawrence compared having children to having a blister.
‘It’s brutal and incredible,’ she told press, including Metro. ‘Not only do they go into every decision of if I’m working, where I’m working, when I’m working [but] they’ve taught me – I didn’t know that I could feel so much, and my job has a lot to do with emotion, and they’ve opened up the world to me.’
Giving a visceral comparison, she added: ‘It’s almost feeling like a blister or something, like so sensitive. So they’ve changed my life, obviously for the best, and they’ve changed me creatively.’
‘I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor,’ she suggested, to laughs among the audience.

Pattinson shares a daughter with partner Waterhouse, 33, who was born in March 20204, and he admitted he had ‘no clue how to even prepare’ for becoming a parent.
‘I mean, I was literally preparing for a baby as if I was trying to plan a vacation. I was like, “I just want it to be as seamless as possible!” That’s the only way I could understand it; it’s just impossible. But that was literally my only conception of how to be helpful, like, “We’re going to get a really nice parking lot situation at the hospital!”,’ he told USA Today.
Die My Love currently has a 76% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes ahead of its release this month, with both actors being praised for their performances as struggling new parents.
Lawrence in particular is generating Oscar buzz for her raw turn as writer Grace, struggling with deteriorating mental health.
