Helena Bonham Carter is also among the cast returning for the threequel, now in production for the streaming giant.

Another Enola Holmes film is in the works at Netflix, with the streaming giant picking up a third installment of the series based on the book by Nancy Springer.
Enola Holmes 3 will once again star Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) as Enola Holmes, the younger sister of the famed detective Sherlock Holmes. Henry Cavill (Mission Impossible: Fallout) plays Sherlock Holmes, while Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) plays family matriarch Eudoria Holmes.
All three will return for the sequel as well as Louis Partridge, who plays Tewkesbury, and Hamish Patel, playing Watson.
Netflix says production is underway now in the U.K., with a pair of Adolescence creatives working on the project: Jack Thorne wrote the screenplay, while Philip Barantini will direct.
The logline: “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”
Enola Holmes has become one of Netflix’s most successful film franchises since its debut in 2020. Enola Holmes 2 was released in 2022, and Netflix said at the time that it made the top 10 list in more than 93 countries.
The project also underscores how Netflix leverages familiar talent in new ways, helping to launch Brown’s career with Stranger Things and bringing her to an original film franchise, while turning to creatives from Adolescence to develop the new project.
Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, Alex Garcia will produce for Legendary Entertainment. Millie Bobby Brown and Bobby Brown will produce for Brown’s production company PCMA Productions. Executive producers are Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards for PCMA; Joshua Grode for Legendary; and Michael Dreyer.
