Eminem has just surpassed Kendrick Lamar in Spotify’s Monthly Listeners.

You know I love Kendrick but there are people who are saying Kendrick’s peak is bigger than Eminem’s. Kendrick is in his peak right now but still can’t beat 90s artist on Spotify?

UNEXAMPLED.Eminem has now surpassed Kendrick Lamar on Spotify, becoming the second most-listened-to rapper on the platform currently. Marshall currently holds 71.2 million monthly listeners, slightly ahead of Kendrick’s 71.1 million.

Meanwhile, Drake remains the most-followed rapper on Spotify with 80.7 million monthly listeners. However, his audience appears to be shrinking. The Canadian star is losing an estimated 39,000 listeners daily, which translates to nearly 500,000 fewer listeners per month.

A Shift in Streaming Power

The global Top 10 Spotify artists remain dominated by pop stars, but among rappers, the competition has intensified. Eminem’s steady climb reflects how well his catalogue performs in the  streaming era, long after many peers have peaked.

Interestingly, Kendrick Lamar’s audience has been declining even faster than Drake’s. He recently lost more than 2 million monthly listeners, dropping below Eminem after ranking higher just a day earlier. His current stats show a daily loss of 88,000 listeners.

In contrast, Eminem’s numbers are rising rapidly. Slim Shady gains about 95,000 new listeners every day – a total of 1.77 million monthly. This growth has pushed him to No. 16 globally on Spotify’s artist chart, making him the only veteran rapper consistently moving upward.

A Legacy That Keeps Expanding

Eminem’s rise is not just about numbers. It highlights how his discography continues to connect with new generations of listeners. Songs like “Mockingbird”, “Without Me”, and “Till I Collapse” maintain huge streaming figures. At the same time, his recent album “The Death of Slim Shady” keeps his catalogue fresh and relevant.

Moreover, the fact that listeners from different generations love him makes him a rare case. Today, Em is an artist from the CD era dominating in the streaming world. While many of his peers struggle to stay visible online, Eminem’s fan base only expands.

With more than 71 million monthly listeners, he remains a global force. And if this upward trend continues, Slim Shady could soon challenge Drake for the top rapper spot on Spotify. At the end of the day, he had done it before and might do it again easily.
