Cardi B’s wig swap left an attorney who was cross-examining her during a civil assault trial confused about her “real hair.”
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, the rapper (whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar) testified after being sued in 2020 by a security guard who claims Cardi assaulted her outside of a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018, per Rolling Stone. Cardi denied that a physical altercation occurred, however admitted to having a “verbal altercation” as she felt cornered.

While she was giving her testimony on the stand when the attorney began to question her hair, shifting from a black pixie wig the day before to a long blonde wig, per video footage shared by Access Hollywood.
It began when the lawyer asked the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker if she had “black hair, blonde hair or different color hair” on the date of the alleged incident.
Cardi, 32, couldn’t recall, but told the attorney she was wearing a hoodie. He then pressed her further.

“Yesterday you had black hair, short hair. Today it’s blonde and long. Which one is your real hair? Or are they both real?” he asked her.
The “I Like It” rapper laughed before replying, “They’re wigs.”
“Okay. Sorry, I didn’t know that. It’s a good wig today, then,” the lawyer responded.

In the lawsuit filed in 2020, security guard Emani Ellis claimed that Cardi physically attacked her, cut her face with her fingernails, and spat on her during a visit to the obstetrician’s office, per Rolling Stone.
According to the outlet, Cardi — who was secretly pregnant with her first child with Migos rapper Offset at the time — claimed Ellis, who worked at the office, began “wilding out” and appeared to be following and recording her.

Per Rolling Stone, when Cardi felt trapped a “verbal altercation” began, however, she claimed that it never escalated into anything physical.
“I didn’t touch her,” she said repeatedly while testifying, according to the publication. “It was like a verbal fight, but it didn’t get physical at all.”
