Bad Bunny kicked off his second stint hosting Saturday Night Live by highlighting some of his insane accomplishments of 2025: He had a record-breaking, history-making residency in his home of Puerto Rico; he was just announced as the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime performer; and he’s now the sworn enemy of foaming-at-the-mouth racists who are still unsure if Puerto Rico is part of the United States.

“This is my second time hosting and my fourth time being here,” Bad Bunny explained. “I think that Marcello is getting nervous that Lorne has a new favorite Latino.” (At this point, the camera panned to Marcello, who chuckled before saying “I am,” with a straight face.)

Bad Bunny continued by saying that he was only hosting, and not performing as the musical guest, because he just finished those 31 residency shows in Puerto Rico. “My residency was beautiful, everyone loved it,” he explained. He hinted that some of the many celebrity guests who appeared at his shows were perhaps on drugs. He didn’t name names, but the camera panned over to Jon Hamm (or “Juan Jamón”) after showing a video of the actor dancing during the concert.

Then Bad Bunny’s monologue got to the juicy bit: his upcoming Super Bowl performance and the very chill reaction right-wingers have had to the news.

“I’m very happy, and I think everyone is very happy,” the global pop star joked. “Even Fox News.”

A super cut of videos from the Trump-loving network followed, which strung together the sentence: “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

“Thank you, thank you,” Bad Bunny replied.

It was the classiest and briefest way to address the meltdown and threats that have been circulating, the most extreme of which have come from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem promising that ICE will be attending the Super Bowl in response.

As a true “f*ck you” and dismissal of the handwringing about his pending Spanish-language performance, Bad Bunny then switched over to Spanish. He dedicated his words to Latinos all over the world, including Latinos in the United States, condemning the deportations and other attacks on hard-working people.

When he was finished, he switched back over to English to close out his speech: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”

In the process, Bad Bunny just further cemented his status as an American icon.
