Bad Bunny just hosted SNL and clapped back at all the Super Bowl backlash — in English, Spanish, and in style. Bad “Benito” Bunny came with jokes but also a message: ‘It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us.”

You’ve probably also seen a bunch of ridiculous right-wing backlash around the decision to enlist one of the world’s biggest pop stars to headline one of the world’s biggest live television events. Even Kristi Noem weighed in, because what else does she have going on?

Well, Benito himself hosted SNL last night, and because he’s good with the jokes, you know that he poked fun at the uproar — and he didn’t miss, either.

“I’m very happy,” he said of the gig, adding, “And I think everyone is happy about it. Even Fox News.” What followed was a montage of carefully edited Fox News clips criticizing Bad Bunny — only, the commentators’ words were chopped up to say, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

Bad Bunny also thanked his fans while speaking in Spanish, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

“If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn,” he added in English.

Jon Bon Jovi walked onto the stage with his guitar pressed tightly against his chest, as if he were holding something fragile. It wasn’t a performance. It felt like a farewell. Behind him, the giant screen lit up with the face of Catherine O’Hara. Gentle. Familiar. No introduction. No explanation. Jon sang slowly. Very slowly. Each line seemed carefully weighed, carrying the heavy pull of memory and the weight of years that could never return.
