Arcángel says Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show will be the “most-watched” in history.
During a recent appearance on the YouTube reality series La Casa de Alofoke, the New York City native rapper called Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance “the most badass thing ever.”
“The most-watched Super Bowl in the whole fucking history of the Super Bowl,” Arcángel said in Spanish, as seen in the video linked below. “You know why? Because from Mexico down, people speak Spanish. In the American continent, more people speak Spanish than English. That, and Hispanics are the second minority in the United States … After the gringos, it’s the Hispanics.
Arcángel speaking about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance in an interview with Alofoke 🎙️ “From Mexico down, people speak Spanish — and this year, everyone’s watching the Super Bowl because El Conejo is there.” 🌎🐰
“We, the Hispanic Americans who were born there into Latino families—all of those people are gonna watch it. From Mexico down, no one watches American football. They call ‘football’ something else, that’s ‘soccer.’ So imagine that, and those people don’t give a damn about American football,” he continued.
“Now, from Mexico down, everyone will be watching the fucking Super Bowl not to see who the hell wins, those two fucking teams don’t matter. Guess why they’ll be watching? Because El Conejo [‘The Rabbit’] is there, damn it!”
Despite backlash from some critics and immigration agents’ threats to be on site at this year’s event, a number of celebrities, including Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Whoopi Goldberg, Shaboozey, and Shakira, have spoken out in support of the Debí Tirar Más Fotos rapper.
Meanwhile, Arcángel is preparing for an ambitious world tour where he plans to visit all seven wonders of the world in just 18 days. The tour began Monday (Oct. 27) at Chichén Itzá in Mexico and will wrap up at the Great Wall of China on Nov. 10.
Bad Bunny is slated to headline the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Feb. 8, 2025, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
