Billionaire Elon Musk said he has started devoting all his time to his companies from now on, after the incident of social network X on May 24.
On May 24, billionaire Elon Musk ‘s X platform (formerly known as Twitter) experienced an outage that affected tens of thousands of users in the US. Reuters cited data from the incident tracking website Downdetector as saying that at its peak at 8:51 a.m. (7:51 p.m. Vietnam time), more than 25,800 X users reported problems using the social network. The number dropped to less than 650 as of late last night.

Thousands of users in other countries in Europe, Asia, and Australia also experienced similar problems when accessing X at the peak of the outage. X has not commented on the incident.
In a later post on X, billionaire Elon Musk said he had started focusing on his companies. “Back to working 24/7 and sleeping in conference rooms/servers/factories. I have to be hyper-focused on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), while we have important technology coming,” Musk wrote.

Billionaire Elon Musk spent nearly $300 million supporting President Donald Trump and other Republican politicians last year. On May 20, he said he would significantly scale back his political spending, signaling a return to business amid investor concerns.
After President Trump was elected, Mr. Musk became a close advisor and led the administration’s Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to streamline the government, cut tens of thousands of jobs, and cancel many projects and grants worth billions of dollars.
However, Mr. Musk’s involvement in politics has sparked protests against his electric car company Tesla in the US and Europe, causing sales to plummet.
Some investors have also expressed concern about the time Elon Musk spends on Tesla, Reuters reported. In April, the billionaire told investors that he would reduce his time working on DOGE to 1-2 days per week starting in May.
