After Sahith Theegala’s Girlfriend, Another PGA Tour WAG Claps Back as Fan Crosses the Line: “Enough!”

Canadian PGA Tour pro Adam Hadwin’s wife, Jessica Hadwin, is known for her breezy and fun tweets, making fun of everything, including herself and her husband, which has endeared her to a large section of golfing fans. Last year, during the Masters, she tweeted, “When you’ve got a masters tee time at noon, but need to check out the structural integrity of the rental’s kitchen sink first.” In the post, Adam Hadwin was fully dressed up but was trying to fix the kitchen sink. However, not all tweets end up being fun and rosy. Some users do take the context of her tweet in the wrong sense, leading to a brief riff-raff in the comments section.  Hadwin, for her part, does not let go of trolls that easily and makes sure they are aware of the misstep on their part.

Recently, after day 2 of the PGA Championship, Hadwin put up a tweet that rubbed one user the wrong way: “Just getting our daughter and myself all ready and headed out the door to the course.” She further added that while they were doing so, her husband texted her and asked her to book flights, presumably to go back home. She also added a GIF of an emotional Jon Rahm as her reaction to her husband’s text. The GIF was of Rahm, after winning the 2020 Memorial Tournament, when he was told that he would be getting penalized for moving the ball while taking a shot at the 16th hole.

This was because Adam had a disappointing tournament. The 37-year-old had ended day 1 with a score of 2 over par and was trying to improve upon it on day 2. However, despite his best efforts, he carded five bogeys on the front nine, which could potentially mean an early exodus. He ended up with a score of 11 over par at Quail Hollow.

While the post was meant in jest, as are almost all tweets by Mrs. Hadwin, one user took it the wrong way. He replied to the original tweet, stating, “Not trying to be rude….but enough with the attention seeking! You’d be driving a forklift at an Amazon fulfillment centre if you didn’t marry a pro golfer. Husband is a stud golfer tho.”

Jessica Hadwin did not let it slide, though. Hadwin first entered the medical field as a pharmacy technician before going on to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, which is what she does now. “I worked full time since I was 14. Have my masters degree that I put myself through to work as a board certified acute care nurse practitioner. But go off palm tree,” Hadwin stated vehemently. However, that was not all. True to her nature, she also added another reply to the user’s critical tweet. A GIF of a forklift driver going in circles with a note saying, “Also me.” More power to you, Jessica Hadwin!

Significant others of PGA Tour pros have been catching unnecessary criticism from some sections of the fans. Even Sahith Theegala’s girlfriend, Julianna “Juju” Chan, got called out for her beau’s poor performances. Her response was impressive, though.

Chan put up an Instagram reel with a note that said, “When people say my boyfriend is playing badly because of me.” In the reel, she is applying lipstick and sitting in the driver’s seat of the car, all the while putting up an unbothered demeanor. This clearly shows that she is not giving any attention to the relentless trolls who are looking for anything or anyone to blame. She also added the caption, “Why are you guys so obsessed with me?” referring to the users who were blaming her unnecessarily for her boyfriend’s performances. The reel was a very clear and loud message to the golfing world that trolls are not to be taken lightly by any means.

She garnered a great deal of support from the golfing world, including from the wives of two PGA Tour pros, Jordan Hall (wife of Harry Hall) and Katherine Fitzpatrick (wife of Matt Fitzpatrick), who were both quick to shower praises on Chan for calling out the trolls. While Jordan Hall commented, “It’s never our fault,” Katherine Fitzpatrick wrote, “They should be obsessed with you.”
