Lainey Wilson Joins Post Malone At Posty’s Grand Opening Party For Duet Of “Nosedive”

He brought out all his friends.
Last night, Post Malone put on a night of good music, good drinks, and wholesome free fun in downtown Nashville to celebrate the grand opening of his Broadway bar, Posty’s.
The bar, which was formerly occupied by Tequila Cowboy (and WannaB’s Karaoke), has been operating for just over three months. With that being said, however, the 26,000 square foot venue – with six bars, three stages, a full-service dining room, a rooftop and the largest ground floor on Broadway – never had a “Grand Opening.”
Well, that all changed on Tuesday morning when the venue announced that it would finally be holding its official grand opening on Wednesday, October 8, complete with Post’s wax figure from Madame Tussauds being on display, hand-painted murals at the Broadway entrance of Posty’s for additional photo ops, exclusive merchandise, a ribbon cutting ceremony and most notably, a complete takeover of Broadway for a free performance from the “Finer Things” singer.
The crowd that the event pulled was truly insane. Several videos of the crowd, which is truly a sea of people, have gone viral, and it’s pretty astonishing to see just how many people showed up for this concert. I know we all love free live music, but this is next level… like more packed than CMA Fest or the 4th of July:
It’s no secret that Post Malone often pays homage to the classics of country music, and last night was not different as he laid down stellar covers all night. Posty opened the night with Hank Williams Jr.’s “Outlaw Women,” then proceeded to deliver covers of Brad Paisley’s “Ticks,” Zach Top’s “I Never Lie,” and Vince Gill’s “What the Cowgirls Do.”
But that was just where the fun started last night because Malone brought out a handful of guests throughout the evening, like Brooks & Dunn, to perform “Neon Moon” and “Brand New Man.” Malone also brought out his friend Lainey Wilson for a duet of their song “Nosedive,” which appeared on Malone’s debut country record, F-1 Trillion.
It appears that Malone made a rule last night that he would not play his original songs; however, he said Wilson was the exception, and their duet would make it well worth breaking the rule.
“I know there’s a thing about no originals, but if I could play an original tonight, I swear she’s going to make it worth it. Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome to the stage Miss Lainey mother****** Wilson.”
Lainey Wilson joins Malone on stage, where she addresses the crowd and tells him he’s putting on a stellar show so far. Hilariously, Malone then confesses to Wilson that he’s a little drunk at that moment, and he might mess up the words.
“I’m going to f*** it up, but you’re going to f****** crush it. Make some f****** noise!”
The two then jump into “Nosedive,” and, overserved or not, Malone impressed the crowd with his vocal performance. Wilson, who is always a top-notch entertainer, brought the heat too and laid down her lyrics flawlessly.
These two always impress when they take the stage together, and last night was no exception.
Check it out.
And just for fun, here’s another angle of their performance:
