The PGA Tour has undergone another meeting with Donald Trump. On Thursday, tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, along with player-director Adam Scott, 15-time major champion Tiger Woods and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan, had another ‘constructive’ meeting with the US President at the White House regarding the merger deal.
A few days ago, the trio of Woods, Monahan, and Scott had traveled to Washington D.C. to speak with Donald Trump on the ongoing merger deal. The deal which was announced in June 2023 to reunify the game, is yet to be wrapped up.
Before his re-election as the President, Trump had boldly claimed he could get the merger deal done in 15 minutes if he were involved. Since his involvement in this, there have been reports that the two parties have reached a financial agreement regarding this merger.
In a statement released on Thursday, the PGA Tour informed they had concluded a “constructive working session” at the White House with Trump and Al-Rumayyan. They once again thanked the US President for his leadership in this saga.
We have just concluded a constructive working session at the White House with President Trump and H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump, we have initiated a discussion about the reunification of golf. We are committed to moving as quickly as possible and will share additional details as appropriate.
PGA Tour said in a statement
The tour then added that they want the “best players in the world” playing together more often than they do now and are trying to find a solution for this.
We share a passion for the game and the importance of reunification. Most importantly, we all want the best players in the world playing together more often and are committed to doing all we can to deliver that outcome for our fans.
PGA Tour added
Since the establishment of LIV Golf, the sport of golf has been split. Some of the top players would leave the PGA Tour for the newly formed no-cut league.
The division in golf has led to a slight decrease in the viewership of the game. Currently, the major championships is the only time where LIV and PGA Tour players compete against each other.
LIV Golfers could make PGA Tour return more sooner than expected as per Golf insider
The reunification of the game of golf is one of the top talking points of the merger deal between the PGA Tour and PIF. As per a Golf Insider, the return of LIV Golfers on PGA Tour could have more sooner than expected.

At the moment, it is expected that the players from the two tours will play under one event in the future. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, Golf insider Rex Hoggard reports that LIV Golfers and PGA Tour stars could meet soon.
The insider claimed that a LIV Golfer told him there is a possibility that players from their tour could compete in The Players Championship next month.
