SHOCKING: Jason Kelce just sent shockwaves through both the NFL and the entire nation with a bold statement that’s got everyone talking:
“If Bad Bunny isn’t a good fit for the Super Bowl… then maybe the people making those comments aren’t a good fit for America’s future.”
The internet exploded. Fans are split — some cheering Kelce for defending diversity, others furious, accusing him of turning football into a political circus.
Jason Kelce is setting the record straight after quotes incorrectly attributed to him have gone viral.
“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now,” Kelce, 37, wrote on X on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The New Heights podcast co-host continued, “I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real.”
One false quote that went viral made it appear as though Kelce was critical of those who did not feel Bad Bunny should perform at the Super Bowl. “If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people,” the quote wrongly attributed to Kelce read.
However, Kelce has not shared his opinion for or against Bad Bunny being the halftime performer on his verified social media pages.
The false statement referenced the online criticism of the announcement of Bad Bunny’s upcoming 2026 Super Bowl halftime show performance.
Bad Bunny’s most recent album, DeBí TiRAR Más FOToS, is entirely in Spanish. His halftime show will not be the first performed in Spanish, as Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed partially in Spanish in 2020. Bad Bunny was born in Puerto Rico and is a U.S. citizen.
On Oct. 1, Corey Lewandowski — a top adviser on Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2024 campaigns, who now supports the Department of Homeland Security, said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will be at Bad Bunny’s performance.
“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,” Lewandowski said in an episode of The Benny Show podcast. “Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you.”
In response to the Trump administration’s claims, Bad Bunny joked on Saturday Night Live that viewers have “four months to learn Spanish” to understand his performance.
