Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari career takes shock new twist that changes everything after retirement rumours
The seven-time Formula One champion has hinted that he could retire following a disappointing start with Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton’s future at Ferrari could take an unexpected turn after the F1 legend suggested he was considering retirement.
When six-time F1 Drivers’ Championship winner Hamilton announced that he would be leaving Mercedes and joining Ferrari at the start of the 2025 season, fans couldn’t believe it.
Ahead of the season, many expected that the Brit would be competing for the title but things haven’t gone quite to plan so far, leaving Hamilton sixth in the driver standings after 14 race weekends.
The Hungarian Grand Prix saw Hamilton finish the race in 12th, the same position that he started in after being eliminated in Q2.
Speaking after the race, the 40-year-old appeared to suggest that he was considering retirement, but a new report has claimed that Hamilton’s time at Ferrari could take a shock turn next season.

Following his disastrous quailing performance at the Hungaroring, Hamilton opened up about his current mentality and his assessment of his season so far during an emotional interview with Sky Sports.
He said: “I’m useless, absolutely useless. The team has no problem, you’ve seen the car on pole so they probably need to change driver.”
But if a new report from Italian outlet Formula Passion, via GP Blog, proves to be true, Hamilton may want to rethink this claim as it claims that Ferrari are looking to develop their 2026 car in a way that will favour Hamilton and his preferences.
Of course, this could be bad news for Hamilton’s teammate Charles Leclerc, who is currently enjoying a better season despite missing out on a race win in Hungary after securing pole position.

However, the report also highlights that the car will not be fully tailored solely for Hamilton, as Leclerc will also be consulted before any significant decisions are made ahead of what is expected to be a vital season due to the introduction of new regulations.
It adds that while both drivers prefer a car set up that focuses on understeer, but the seven-time champion wants to have a little more rear load on his car compared to his teammate.
With 10 races left in the 2025 season, Hamilton still has plenty of time to prove that he’s still capable of winning races and with a car tailored to him in 2026, we could finally see him win a record-breaking eighth Championship.
