Morgan Wallen Brings Out Ella Langley To Sing Fan Favorite on ‘I’m the Problem’ Tour Stop

Ella Langley Joins Morgan Wallen For “What I Want” Duet In Madison, Wisconsin | Whiskey Riff

Morgan Wallen is cleaning up his act since last year’s highly publicized arrest at Chief’s on Broadway. But first he’s having one final romp on his highly anticipated I’m The Problem Tour, supporting his latest album of the same name. During Saturday’s (June 28) stop in Madison, Wisconsin, Morgan Wallen surprised the crowd by bringing out breakout country star Ella Langley for a duet.

Ella Langley Fills In For Tate McRae On Morgan Wallen Tour

Recently, Morgan Wallen fans were thrilled when Ella Langley joined the reigning Entertainer of the Year onstage at Camp Randall Stadium. The five-time ACM Award winner, 26, stepped into Tate McRae’s shoes on “What I Want,” off Wallen’s latest album, I’m the Problem.

Commenting on video footage of the performance, many social media users seemed to feel that Langley should have been the “Whiskey Glasses” crooner’s original duet partner. “I still feel like we got robbed,” remarked one TikTok user.

“What I Want” Is a Career First For Wallen

Although Ella Langley performed alongside Morgan Wallen in Wisconsin, Tate McRae sings the female “What I Want” vocals on the album. The “Greedy” singer, 21, is Wallen’s first female duet partner of his career.

“I also think she’s underrated vocally,” Wallen told Apple Music. “We had the song; it was not written with the female in mind. I’m thinking about what song could I get Tate to sing. And this is the one that we ended up sending to her. This is the only song that we ended up sending to her.”

“And she was awesome, man,” he continued. “The range that she has is something that’s truly remarkable, and you can tell it. She sang this song that’s written for a dude, and she absolutely crushed it out. I can’t say enough great things about her.”
