Tommy Fleetwood Drops Cheery Statement amid Travelers Collapse
Keegan Bradley’s Sunday win at the Travellers Championship marked his first PGA Tour win in 301 days, but for Tommy Fleetwood, it was heartbreak all over again.
The Englishman, still chasing his first PGA Tour title, had a one-shot lead walking up to the 18th green at TPC River Highlands. But a missed 6-foot par putt on the final hole, after another bogey on 16, cost him big!
Yet, what stood out wasn’t just the stumble but his grace in facing it, right after.

While stars like Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa have recently skipped media duties after crushing losses, Fleetwood showed up.
He was ‘angry’ but answered every question politely. “I’m upset now. I’m gutted. I’m angry,” he admitted. “When it calms down, I’ll look at the things I did well, look at the things I can learn from”.
Then, hours after the dust had settled, Fleetwood did look at the things and lit up X with a cheery message that said it all.
“We’ll go again!! As always, thanks for being on the journey. See you in Scotland!”
The post was up just hours after his collapse, reminding us of why he remains one of the most admired figures in golf.
Fleetwood’s collapse was gut-wrenching. He had played brilliantly all week, posting rounds of 66, 65, and 63 before a final-round 72 undid his hopes.
He was tied with Russell Henley at 14 under par. Interestingly, it was his 42nd top-10 finish on the PGA Tour, the most by any player since 1983, but without a win.
Speaking to reporters, Fleetwood reflected on the loss with remarkable clarity. “Right now I would love to just go and sulk somewhere, and maybe I will do,” he said.
“But there’s just no point making it a negative for the future, really. Just take the positives and move on”.
The 34-year-old’s next stop will be the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian, Scotland, from July 10–13. It’ll be his 11th appearance at the event, where he finished runner-up in 2020.
The field is stacked with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, and defending champion Robert MacIntyre – all confirmed to tee it up.
